Traffic Alert

Franklinton 5K
The Franklinton 5K will take place on Sunday, October 30 at 10 a.m. Motorists should expect delays along the following route:
Start near the intersection of W. Broad St. and Anson St.; east on W. Broad St.; south on Belle St.; west on W. Town St.; north on W. Park Ave.; and east on W. Broad St. to finish at Anson St.

I-71 Ramp Closures
The following ramps are now closed as part of the I-71/670 Columbus Crossroads project.

The entrance ramp from Broad St. to I-71 north and I-670 west is closed to allow two through lanes of traffic during construction and provide safe, adequate room for the construction workers. The detour is Broad St. west to 4th St., north to I-670 east to I-71 north. This closure will be in place through 2013.

The exit ramp from I-71 north to I-670 west is closed to begin construction of a crossover shift in the I-670 travel pattern. The detour is I-70 west to 315 north. This closure will be in place through November 2012.

The entrance ramp from Jack Gibbs Blvd. to I-670 west is closed to begin construction of a crossover shift in the I-670 travel pattern. The detour is Cleveland Ave. south to Mt. Vernon Ave., west to 4th St., north to I-670 West. Another detour is north on Cleveland Ave., west on 5th Ave. to I-670 west. This closure will be in place through November 2012.

If you use these ramps, please plan ahead, consider alternate routes and allow extra time for your commute.

MyColumbus App
The MyColumbus app, which was released earlier this year for the iPhone is now available for Android. This app combines four mail Columbus websites and tools: Columbus 311 (call center that provides a way for residents to submit a request for City Services), GreenSpot (a resource for Columbus residents, business and communities to learn about living and working greener), Get Active Columbus (provides tips and resources for families about how to get active in Columbus), and My Neighborhood (interactive map that provides Columbus residents with quick, easy access to information about city services and facilities). http://mayor.columbus.gov/initiatives.aspx?id=43885&menu_id=528

The National Register of Historic Places has approved The Athletic Club of Columbus to the list, as of September 29, 2011. The Ohio Historic Site Preservation Advisory Board nominated the property in July.

Fresh A.I.R. Gallery Exhibit: Medicine Man by Calen Pick

Calen Pick of Bozeman, Montana creates artwork primarily in oil paintings and explains his art as an integral part of his recovery from schizoaffective disorder. Calen's mother, Jessie Close, who has experienced the effects of bipolar disorder, has teamed up with her sister and Calen's aunt, Oscar-nominated actress Glenn Close, to dispel the stigma and educate the community about mental illness through their national anti-stigma campaign called BringChange2Mind.
