CapitalCrossroads Special ImprovementDistrict and the Columbus Police Department invite downtown employeesandresidents to a state-of-the-art crime prevention reception on Friday, September 9 at 20 E. Broad St.from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.The reception is no cost and open to the public. Participants willreceivevouchers for a no-cost lunch at Cafe Napolitana. The Ohio State University will host a public screening of both rare andfamiliar short films from its cinematic vault in the Film StudiesProgram.Guest host Matt Swift, advisor of the Film Studies Program andcaretaker of theuniversity's film collection, will screen four 16mm short films on aprojector:Canadian animated short Hen Hop(1942) by Norman McLaren; Les Mistons(1957) from French master Francois Truffaut; silent Polish classic The Cameraman's Revenge (1912) byWladyslaw Starewicz; and the American avant-garde InstitutionalQuality (1969) by Owen Land.
