Inside43215 Flip the SwitchFlip the Switch

No fluffy white stuff falling yet, but we're about to add some sparkle and excitement to flip the switch for holiday fun.

Ohio's First Lady, Karen Kasich, will be on hand Wednesday at the People's House during the official Ohio Statehouse Tree Lighting and Holiday Festival. In keeping with the giving spirit, they invite visitors to bring a non-perishable food item for Mid-Ohio Foodbank. 

Refreshments, live entertainment and even an appearance from the jolly guy himself will round out the evening, which begins at 5:30 p.m.

The Columbus Crossroads project has meant a lot of changes to the traffic patterns on roads throughout Central Ohio. Paving the Way reminds drivers to watch for speed limit reductions in work zones. Slowing down gives you more time to react and prevent serious accidents. So slow down to protect your safety and that of construction workers.

When you head downtown this holiday season, remember that Capital Crossroads and Discovery District Special Improvement Districts do offer safety escorts. Just call the customer service hotline at 614.228.5718 and ask for an ambassador to escort you from one place to another. Safety escort services are available in the Capital Crossroads SID Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. - 11:30 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. - 11:30 p.m. and on Sunday 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m., and in the Discovery SID Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 2 a.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m.
