Downtown is more beautiful and dynamic thanks to the new Columbus Commons and Scioto Mile parks, and both will shine this holiday season! Through January 15, be sure to visit Columbus Commons, The Lazarus Building and the entire Scioto Mile from Broad Street to Bicentennial Park when the sun goes down. Feast your eyes on nearly 200,000 lights as they twinkle and light up the urban landscape.

Getting Gussied Up

It's almost here! When the big shiny ball drops at midnight on December 31 ushering in 2012, the celebration in Columbus can begin. That's right; 2012 is the year of our bicentennial, and the City is preparing for a big year of birthday hoopla! But what should you wear for the big event?

Don't worry right now about ball gowns and black tie. Check out the 200Columbus t-shirts and accessorize with 200Columbus tote bags. Find official 200Columbus merchandise now for sale online (and coming soon to Columbus-area gift shops). These t-shirts, glasses, tote bags and more all celebrate the Columbus bicentennial with hip, cool looks designed locally. Plus the items are made in America and primarily printed in Ohio.

So check out the goodies and pick up some gifts for yourself and everyone on your holiday list. All proceeds go to 200Columbus, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing a robust and transformative commemoration of the City's bicentennial. Happy New Year and Happy Birthday, Columbus!
